Bathroom Remodeling in the DC Metro Area

By Managed Renovations

Create a Bathroom That Feels Like a Reset

Few rooms shape your day quite like the bathroom. It's the first place you go in the morning and the last stop before bed, so when it's dated or awkward, you feel it.

A good remodel cures all of that, and then some. We create bathrooms that work hard and feel calm, from compact guest baths to spa-style primary suites with soaking tubs, steam showers, and storage that actually keeps the clutter out of sight.

Managed Renovations stays personally involved the whole way through, coordinating the plumbing, electrical, tile, and finish work so every detail lines up the way it should.

Designed For the Way You'll Live Now, and For Your Future

A lot of our bathroom projects come from homeowners who have no plans to leave the neighborhood they love. They simply want a home that keeps working for them ten or twenty years from now.

A primary bath designed with that in mind can be beautiful and discreetly practical at the same time: a curbless walk-in shower, a built-in bench, grab bars that look like towel bars, slip-resistant stone, and a layout with real room to move.

Done well, none of it feels clinical. It just feels like a calm, updated bathroom that happens to be ready for whatever comes next.

Frequently Asked Questions About Bathroom Remodels in the DC Metro Area

How much does a bathroom remodel cost in the DC area?expand_more

Bathroom remodels in our area generally start around $15,000 for a focused guest-bath update and reach $90,000 or more for a large primary suite with premium finishes.

Size, fixtures, and whether you change the layout drive most of the difference. See our Remodeling Cost Guide for a full breakdown, and we'll always give you an honest range before any work starts.

How long does a bathroom remodel take?expand_more
A straightforward guest bath usually takes three to five weeks of construction. A larger primary suite, once you factor in design, permits, and custom finishes, often runs closer to twelve weeks from start to finish, so we set a realistic schedule with you up front.
Can you design a bathroom for aging in place?expand_more
Yes, and we do it without making the space feel like a hospital. We blend universal-design features such as curbless showers, grab bars, and slip-resistant surfaces into a clean, modern look that's comfortable now and ready for the future.
Do you handle the permits, plumbing, and tile work?expand_more
Yes! A bathroom involves several trades working in a tight space, and we coordinate all of them, including pulling the permits, so the plumbing, electrical, waterproofing, and tile all come together correctly.

Our Process

1 | Consultation
Everything starts with a conversation, usually right in your home. Michael walks the space with you, listens to what you're hoping to change, and gets a real feel for how you live. It's also where we make sure we're the right fit for each other, because the best projects are built on mutual trust. You'll leave that first meeting with clarity, not a hard sell.
2 | Design & Planning
Once we understand your goals, we map out the scope, budget, and direction together. When your project needs architectural plans, we connect you with our trusted independent architect, who works with you directly. You stay in control of the selections and the big decisions at every step. The result is a plan that fits your home, your taste, and your budget before a single wall comes down.
3 | Construction
This is where the transformation happens, and where Michael stays personally involved. We schedule, manage, and inspect the work ourselves, coordinating vetted licensed subcontractors and keeping you in the loop the whole way through. You'll always know what's happening and what's coming next. When we're done, it should feel less like a renovation and more like the home you always pictured.

What Our Clients Think

"When doing a big renovation in a 100+ year old house, surprises happen. Working with Michael and Natalie always brought us a level of calm and peace that the surprises would be dealt with, that the quality would be first rate, and that there was always an eye towards finding the best value in the solution."

"Michael Shannon, Natalie, and all of the crew are consummate professionals: considerate, trustworthy, very skilled, kind, highly communicative, and timely. helpful, and worth every penny, which was very reasonable too. They redid my small powder room, and I trusted them to finish the job while out of town. When I returned, it was completed and looked even better than I had imagined. Every detail was skillfully executed, and their suggestions were on point too. I am very pleased with the entire experience and recommend them as an outstanding company with the best reputation. I will definitely use them again if I can get on their schedule!!"

"Michael and team did a superb renovation job. The work was completed under tight timelines and Michael is an expert in setting clear and realistic expectations and delivering on them. All the team were highly responsive. We feel that we got what we wanted whereas with most contractors you barely get what you pay for. The quality of the work was consistently high. An added bonus is that they were polite, respectful, and enjoyable to work with."

"Michael and Managed Renovations helped us with renovating a new house in Colonial Village. The work included a new kitchen, new master bath and closet, and various upgrades throughout the house. Michael cared that the work would be done right — probably even more than we did! Michael consistently showed an attention to detail that went far beyond any of the other contractors we've worked with before. As a result of Michael's suggestions, we've got significantly more space than we expected. Michael's creativity was an added bonus."
