How We Work
A remodel is a big investment and a months-long relationship, so the process should feel clear from day one.
Our approach to home remodeling in the DC area is straightforward: stay involved, keep you informed, and only charge for the work where we genuinely add value. That's why we will connect you directly with our preferred designers and architects to work with them directly without any added cost from us, and then we manage every phase of the construction ourselves.

Our Remodeling Process
01
Initial Consultation
Everything starts with a conversation, usually right in your home. We listen to what you want to change, look at the space together, and get a real feel for how you live in it. It's also where we both decide whether we're the right fit, because the best projects start with mutual trust, not a hard sell.

Design & Architectural Plans
Once we understand your goals, we shape them into a real plan. When your project calls for architectural design and drawings, we connect you with our trusted independent architects and/or designers, who will work with you directly and bill you directly, so you are never paying a contractor's markup on design costs. You stay in control, and we work closely with you and your selected designer/architect through the design process for plan development and budgeting.

Proposal & Agreement
With a clear plan in hand, we put together a detailed proposal and an honest budget, so you know exactly what you're investing in before anything begins. Our payment structure is built to protect you, with a reasonable deposit and progress payments based on the completed work required for your Project. Once everything looks right, we finalize our Agreement and get your project onto our schedule.

Construction & Project Management
This is where your home starts to transform. We schedule, manage, and inspect every phase of the work ourselves, coordinating our talented in-house carpenters and our team of vetted, licensed & insured subcontractors & trades, and keeping the job site organized and respectful of you and your home. Using our Cloud-based BuilderTrend Project Management software, you and we will always know what's happening, what's next, and when your input and/or owner-supplied materials will be needed at the job.

Final Walkthrough & Warranty
When the work is finished, we walk the completed space with you to confirm every detail meets the standard we promised. We take care of any final touch-ups before we consider the project done. And we back our work with a one-year workmanship warranty, so you can settle in with confidence.
